Holy Communion:  If you have been confirmed by a Bishop in Apostolic Succession, you are invited to receive the Blessed Sacrament.  If not, but are a Baptized Christian, please come to the Altar Rail for a blessing (simply cross your arms over your chest when the Celebrant approaches.)  If you have questions, please speak to the clergy.

SEPTEMBER  CHANGE-FOR-CHANGE:  Deus Missionary Discretionary Fund

CHOIR PRACTICE:  Tuesday Night at 7 pm.  “Hey, give it a try”-  Fr. Michael.

SUNDAY SCHOOL:  Children’s Sunday begins September 9th, at 9:15 am

Adults will meet in the Parish Hall at 9:30 am

OUR ANGLICAN FAITH:  Beginning Wednesday evening, September 12th, there will be a new course for those wanting to be confirmed or want a refresher course.  Sign-up sheet is in Parish Hall.

YOUTH CONFIRMATION:  Classes begin Wednesday evening, Sep 12th.

LADIES NIGHT OUT:  The ladies of St. Michael’s are restarting our monthly night out.  The first will be Friday, September 7 at 4 pm at Steve’s in Harrisburg.

Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750), Baroque era composer and musician in central Germany, composed a book of preludes and fugues, The Well Tempered Clavier, in each major and minor key.

 

Muzio Clementi (1752-1832), born in Italy, lived in England for 20 years as a teacher and performer.  He published a set of small sonatas, called sonatinas, as his Opus 36 in 1797. The two movements heard today are taken from his first sonatina.

 

The Recessional Hymn, “Come labor on,” was written in 1859 by Jane Borthwick of Edinburgh, Scotland as a hymn for church workers. The tune was published 100 years ago, was composed by T. Tertius Noble, organist-choirmaster at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, New York.

 

YOUTH CONFIRMATION:

Now is the time for all 5th and 6th graders to be confirmed.  Parents, if your child has not been confirmed, call Dss. Tina.  Classes will be on Wednesday nights beginning September 12th, following the 6 pm Eucharist & Dinner.
